Field Inspection Specialist – Insulation and Air Sealing Energy Efficiency Programs (Field-Based) 
Location: Rochester, NY or Binghamton, NY (Remote – Home Office with Local Travel in Upstate NY)

To support our growth, we are currently seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Field Inspection Specialist to join our energy efficiency team located in New York State. The selected candidates will coordinate all quality assurance activities, which include, but may not be limited to, conducting post installation field inspections at residential facilities.  

In addition, they will assist with the development and implementation of QA/QC programs, plans, and procedures. They will also conduct QA investigations of program contractors, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain QA records using program systems.

What you will be doing: 

Performing installation inspections and energy savings calculations for insulation and air sealing jobs 

Interacting with homeowners, contractors, and other key stakeholders 

Coordination of Quality Assurance activities such as completing inspection reports, coordinating with utility QA/QC teams, and facilitating communication with contractors 

Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are more than 50% local travel (reimbursement for mileage provided) 

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications): 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Sciences or related discipline and 2+ years professional experience in utility, energy efficiency, HVAC and/or related work experience 

OR 

High School Diploma and 4+ years professional experience in utility, energy efficiency, HVAC and/or related work experience 

Must have valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check 

Able to lift boxes no heavier than 30 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, driving, walking, standing, above head arm movements 

What we would like you to have (minimum qualifications): 

BPI Analyst certification or HERS Rater certification 

Knowledge of energy efficient technologies and practices related to overall residential building energy technologies or experience in the building trades is a plus 

Bilingual/Multilingual - Spanish and/or Mandarin proficiency preferred

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$59,469.00 - $101,098.00
