**Job Title: Field Labor Performance Manager**
**Job Description**
The Field Labor Performance Manager is responsible for overseeing labor and safety performance on all job sites, enforcing company standards for employee conduct, safety, and dependability. This position plays a critical role in managing field employee onboarding, performance, and HR-related processes, as well as ensuring adherence to safety and operational policies. Through regular site visits and employee engagement, this manager will promote a culture of hard work, integrity, and safety across the workforce.
**Responsibilities**
+ Conduct routine visits to all job sites to observe and assess employee performance, safety practices, and adherence to company standards.
+ Report on labor and safety performance at each site, including areas for improvement and recognition of top-performing employees.
+ Monitor job site activity to prevent early cleanup and encourage efficiency.
+ Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring proper training, documentation, and orientation on job expectations and safety standards.
+ Execute disciplinary actions and, if necessary, terminate employees who do not meet company performance or safety standards.
+ Maintain detailed records of each employee’s progress, strengths, and areas needing improvement.
+ Review job clock times daily, ensuring consistent, accurate attendance and clock-in/clock-out practices.
+ Implement and monitor a culture of dependability by addressing attendance issues and recognizing dependable employees.
+ Ensure that employees are following company standards for clothing, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and tool usage on all job sites.
+ Conduct routine tool checks to confirm all employees have the required tools for their tasks.
+ Address and resolve safety concerns in real-time and maintain a record of safety incidents.
+ Work to maintain a low workers' compensation modifier rate by upholding rigorous safety practices.
+ Develop and propose at least five monthly performance-based incentive ideas to reward field employees for exceptional performance, safety, or other criteria as directed by the executive team.
+ Implement approved incentive programs and oversee the award process.
+ Proactively recruit new employees through outreach, networking, and partnerships with labor brokerage firms to ensure sufficient labor for current and upcoming projects.
+ Maintain a strong relationship with labor brokerage firms to secure skilled workers as needed.
+ Document and implement corrective actions, including formal write-ups for employees not meeting performance standards.
+ Develop, in coordination with executives, additional support or retraining plans as needed to aid employee performance.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in field labor management within the construction industry.
+ Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and workforce management practices.
+ Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively address performance and HR issues.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with employee performance tracking and labor scheduling software is a plus.
