Field Maintenance Technician- Springtown, Texas

Brief Description:

The Field Maintenance Technician travels to field locations to perform a variety of equipment service and maintenance activities with little guidance. Activities include Electrical, Hydraulic or Mechanical troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, adjusting and testing of equipment, documenting work performed, equipment condition and other maintenance activities. Additional duties include training and mentoring on Installation & operational level maintenance, coordinating maintenance related projects, and providing appropriate feedback to the internal or external job site manager and or maintenance management team. This position will work "On Call" on a 14/14 rotational basis. Occasional International travel may be required. 

Detailed Description: 

Plan appropriately to drive extended distances to rig locations and perform maintenance dutiesAssemble increasingly complex equipment/products with limited supervision according to standard operating procedures.  Read, interpret and follow standard engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials and other verbal/written work instructions/procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.  Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when required.  Read and interpret assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sequence sheets and visual aids.  Set up and operate a variety of machinery, tooling and test equipment; perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard operating procedures.  Verify quality of product produced in accordance with manufacturing work instructions.    Complete and document all work as needed.Liaise with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.  Rework and/or repair assembled standard equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.  May have previous exposure of product lines manufactured or serviced by Warrior.  Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.  Skilled in final inspections, safety and materials handling.  Maintains a clean and safe work environment; provides aid to senior shop technicians when required. 

Job Requirements

Ability to safely navigate drilling work sites & Shops with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc. during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather)Ability to travel to visit drilling work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office areaLift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfacesBend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl occasionally during visits to field and operational work areasFrequent use a variety of hand and power tools to perform a range of mechanically oriented functions including independent use of heavy-duty handheld and long-handled toolsClear vision to judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch, and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third partiesListen for unusual noises that signify equipment and machinery problemsMaintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment with many moving objectsStay alert and focused including during occasional extended work periodsWear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all designated timesAbility to work on weekends and be on call after hoursDemonstrate clear communication skills including ability to read, write and speak in English as well as understand with the ability to promptly give, and follow, directions when working with othersStrong organizational SkillsAbility to drive a Company vehicle in accordance to the Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving PolicyElectrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow schematics & assembly drawings to build, disassemble, trouble shoot & repair equipmentUtilize a computer and software for communication, reporting and data acquisition

Minimum Qualifications:

All levels:

High School Diploma or GED State-issued driver’s license and be eligible to drive a Company vehicle, including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy

Field Maintenance Technician 1:

2 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent creditsOr 1 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry

Field Maintenance Technician 2:

3 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent creditsOr 2 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry

Field Maintenance Technician 3:

4 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent creditsOr 3 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry

Field Maintenance Technician Sr.:

5 + years Shop or Industrial Equipment maintenance experience or equivalent creditsOr 4 + year Field maintenance experience in an oil and gas related industry

Preferred

Millwright, Journeyman Mechanic or Electrician certificate or Trade School DegreeOil & Gas Equipment Installation, Rig up /down experience:Warrior OEM equipment, TDS 11 Top Drives, Iron Roughnecks, Automated Catwalks, Power End.Bachelor’s degree in a computer-/electrical-related fieldVFD & control systems work experience:Omron, Amphion, Current Power ControlsYaskawa, ABB, Siemens drivesHVAC systems, Hydraulic, Mechanical & Pneumatics installation service & repairBilingual

Additional Details:

These position(s) require the person to work in both office locations and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The Technician will be occasionally exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the drilling operations and rigs are located. The Technician must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. Also, must be able to work closely with others and under deadlines including time-sensitive response situations and be willing to work extended schedules that will include working days; and - or nights, weekends and holidays.
