Williams is hiring a Field Mechanic! The Field Mechanic diagnoses, adjusts, repairs, and overhauls mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and heavy iron equipment, such as bulldozers, graders, and excavators, used in construction. About Williams: Iron Rentals, our fleet and equipment rental company, is responsible for keeping a fleet of over 150 vehicles (and growing!), equipment, and trailers running and in tip top shape. What You'll Do: + Equipment Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough inspections of heavy equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. + Routine Maintenance and Repairs: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on civil construction equipment to include: bulldozers, graders, and excavators to ensure optimal functionality. Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components as needed. + Field Service and Emergency Response: Respond promptly to field service requests and breakdowns, traveling to job sites to address equipment issues. + Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance activities performed on each piece of equipment. What You Bring: + Five years experience as a field mechanic, with a focus on heavy iron equipment. + Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. + Proficient in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals. + High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus. Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair or equivalent verifiable field experience. (preferred) + Valid driver's license and clean driving record. + Ability to obtain Class-A CDL within 6 months of employment. + May be subject to drug testing and medical exams.
