**Job Title: Field Mechanic** **Job Description** We are seeking a Service Technician Mechanic to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM in and around Alameda County. This is a 40-hour work week position that requires a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). The Field Mechanic will travel around the Bay Area to service and repair commercial vehicles such as sewer and storm cleaning vehicles, hydrobacks, vacuum excavators, street sweepers, bucket trucks, and three-quarter ton trucks with trailers. **Responsibilities** + Service and repair commercial vehicles including sewer and storm cleaning vehicles, hydrobacks, vacuum excavators, street sweepers, bucket trucks, and three-quarter ton trucks with trailers. + Check and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. + Perform repairs on forklifts (Crown Forklift) if experienced. + Lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift. + Travel to customer locations for onsite repairs as required. + Use laptop to view vehicle schematics and perform diagnostics. + Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment. + Use hand and power tools to perform repairs. + Create clear parts requisitions and document service work orders. + Inspect vehicles and equipment for wear, damage, or specific problems that might affect performance and safety. **Essential Skills** + Experience in repair, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics. + Knowledge of compressed air systems to power and move tools and machinery. + Understanding of electrical systems including batteries, alternators, relays, and switches (up to 24V). + Ability to perform electrical diagnostics on Can-bus systems/networks. + Experience working on rigging equipment. + Comfortable being 100% mobile and not stationary. + Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics. + Possess a complete toolset required for service. + Valid driver's license and clean driving record. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
