Field Merch/Store Opening Lead
Overview

The Field Merchandiser/New Store Opening Lead will implement the merchandising and planograms (POG) for retail items for their respective locations. The role is responsible for managing and overseeing the setup of new stores, which will constitute the majority of their role. The role will maintain clean, consistent, and in stock on the sales floor while insuring compliance with the company’s marketing and merchandising objectives. Lead and manage the setup of new stores and overseeing compliance with the opening timeline.

This position will support the DFW market and will be based in one of our DFW Travel Centers.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Lead and manage the setup of new stores and overseeing compliance with the opening timeline

Oversee the placement and scheduling of opening orders for entire store, coordinating the opening personnel provided by Operations

Manage the preparation , scheduling and delivery of merchandise fixtures provided by Buc-ee’s

Execute and support the departments merchandising strategies

Coordinate and implement training of store personnel on merchandise standards

Ensure all POGs are implemented within established timelines and maintained at the store

Inform merchandising team of their stores anomalies in POG sets, product issues, etc.

Field liaison to all departments providing feedback from respective store operations

Communicate with each department on issues such as damaged or out of stock, point of purchase signage and displays for respective stores

Coordinate with each department on the ordering of merchandising fixtures, displays, and POS

Coach and train merchandising techniques of products on retail floor

Confirm the accuracy and timeliness of implementing merchandising resets and/or special programs

It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in office/in the employee’s assigned work site. No remote work is available

The position requirements include, but are not limited to:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of experience and education in lieu of degree

Minimum of 5 years of relevant and extensive retail / POG experience preferred.

20% - 30% travel - new store openings require 20 - 30 consecutive days on site

Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel and Planogram Software
