Position Summary  

As a Field Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Wi-Fi networks across multiple communities, ensuring high performance and reliability for residents and associates. This role involves collaborating with the IT Services and Infrastructure Group on IT infrastructure projects, working onsite with local vendors, and providing remote support for network-related issues. 

 

This role is based in Carlsbad, California or Raleigh, North Carolina.  You will travel up to 2 work weeks each month to our communities Nationwide

 

Essential Job Functions  

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

Wi-Fi network design, deployment, and management Site surveys and heat mapping Network performance monitoring and analysis Collaboration with the IT Services and Infrastructure Group Onsite work at community locations travel up to 50% Wi-Fi network documentation and training Research and implementation of emerging Wi-Fi technologies Network access and security management Third-party vendor collaboration Community staff collaboration and support Regular network maintenance tasks Network bandwidth and usage management Network security device management Inventory records maintenance Network-related procurement assistance Training material development and delivery Collaboration with the Development and Acquisition Team

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

To excel in this role, you'll need a deep understanding of Wi-Fi networking concepts and protocols, proficiency in designing and optimizing Wi-Fi networks, experience configuring and troubleshooting wireless devices, and strong problem-solving skills.
