Field Operations Manager - Major Corrective Exchange (MCE)
Overview Responsible for working closely with the Commercial, Project Management and Field [KA1] teams to manage the project scheduling and staffing plans for the safe and successful execution of the Renewable Services projects. This position is responsible for the oversight of the overall labor demand planning, determining personnel staffing requirements, supporting QA/QC efforts, supporting technician hiring, and leading and supporting Field Services safety initiatives. Location & Travel: This position is eligible for remote work and requires up to 50-75% travel Company Overview MasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. Responsibilities Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures Work closely with Renewable Services (RS) Commercial and Operations leadership to assign qualified field resources and summarize forecasted labor demand to ensure projects are staffed appropriately and executed efficiently Lead field safety initiatives and roll out safety initiatives for all Field Safety teams Implement and conduct regular safety reviews and observations of work performed and support safety lead at each site when incidents arise or as training is rolled out Work across the Services businesses and the overall family of businesses to understand available staff and assign that staff to upcoming jobs based on skills, experience, efficiency, cost, and work scope Ensure Field Personnel are following and/or are in compliance with all field policies and procedures; including appropriate utilization of Company Vehicles; charging time to a job including standby time; Fuel Expenses for company vehicle; utilization of a T&L Card (where appropriate), etc. Manage the supply and demand of resource needs across the Services business lines to maximize utilization and minimize technicians “on the bench” Evaluate and execute planning for field teams future training and coaching needs Support Project Management with Lesson’s Learned reviews, providing feedback to the field teams to drive continuous improvement ensuring high levels of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction Coordinate and optimize Field Techs’ rotations/time off to ensure uninterrupted execution across active projects Include the coordination and communication of 3rd party staffing plans in all project and labor planning reports Communicate staffing plans across the RS group, identify gaps early and escalate issues in advance of conflicts Provide reports to RS Operation leadership showing where project and resource gaps exist or where demand exceeds supply and provide suggestions for closing those gaps Identify the need for and support the hiring of new staff to support project execution plans and goals Develop, manage, and lead the report out of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project staffing needs and plans Actively participate in strategic hiring initiatives Interface with HR on employee development Approve any Travel and Living Expenses outside of per diem related to field personnel Oversee HR related procedures including recruitment, promotions, transfers, terminations, and salary changes Evaluate, train, mentor, and manage all field supervision Provide feedback and performance related discussions on staff Complete performance evaluations for direct reports Required to travel approximately 50%-75% of the time Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in quality, business management, construction, or related field preferred Five years of Wind field experience, project planning and execution, resource management or equivalent Experience and/or understanding in managing renewable energy projects or services resource staffing needs KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to execute and communicate project labor demand plans and potential outcomes Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the organization Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently Strong and effective communication skills Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook WORKING ENVIRONMENT: When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises What's in it for you: Financial Wellbeing Compensation $96,000-$140,000 / year, commensurate with experience Competitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase 401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care) Health & Wellness Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and children Diabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug Plan, Pet Insurance Family & Lifestyle Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Bereavement Leave Military Leave, including Differential Pay and Benefits Continuation Employee Assistance Program Planning for the Unexpected Short and long-term disability, life insurance, and accidental death & dismemberment Voluntary life insurance, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity coverage Emergency Travel Assistance Program Group legal plan Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
