The Field Paramedic is responsible for administering inter-facility care to acutely ill or injured patients and pre-hospital emergency care utilizing Advanced Life Support (ALS) skills. Provide safe, time-bound transportation to the appropriate hospital or facility.  The Paramedic provides work under the authorization of the department’s affiliated Medical Director. 

Responsibilities

The Field Paramedic will perform patient care activities consistent with Federal, State, and department regulations. Documentation is completed per established guidelines and timeframes. The Field Paramedic ensures vehicle readiness and stock levels are maintained per department standards. The Field Paramedic will complete equipment inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards. Company vehicles are operated in accordance with organizational standards. DPH/OEMS mandated education is completed as required. Required Department education are completed, and certifications are maintained as required.   *

Working knowledge of IFT equipment including portable ventilators and infusion pumps. Computer savvy. Knowledge of Microsoft office applications preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population. Maintain flexible work schedule to provide patient care as needed. (evenings, holidays, weekends and travel).

Minimum Required Qualifications (All licenses and certifications must be current.)

High School Graduate or GED equivalent. Must be 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license with no current moving violations. MA EMT-P Certification. Healthcare Provider CPR certification. BLS Certification. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a field paramedic. *
