JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for a Field Producer to work in the LA Bureau. As a Field Producer, you will cover major stories including breaking news, initiative stories, and special events. You will also produce reporter live shots, travel for news events, and coordinate all aspects of production. You must demonstrate through past experience that you have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with correspondents and photographers in the field. 

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce reporter live shots and packages on location and in the LA Bureau

Travel domestically and internationally to cover breaking news, often at the last minute and for extended periods of time

Pitch and develop original story ideas

Newsgathering logistics, book travel, assign field crews

Coordinate all aspects of production, including booking, writing, ordering graphics, and producing both taped segments and live shots

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

3 years of experience as a reporter, writer, producer, and/or editor at a news organization

Extensive field production experienc

Strong writing skills

Extensive experience in edit room

Production experience in breaking news and feature reporting

Ability to shoot video and operate LiveU

Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays, often with short notice

Valid driver’s license

Proficiency in Spanish preferred

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $84,500.00-100,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
