DescriptionHighly skilled mechanic who safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of pump, hydraulic & piping systems and associated equipment.
Perform component diagnostic, replacement, & repairs on but not limited to compressors, fire systems, pump systems, piping systems & hydraulic systems. May also work on pit dewatering systems.Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance by checking oil levels & changing oil, checks seals for leakage, grease, maintains compressors & checks filters ext.Perform the removal, installation, rebuild & repairs of piping & pump components such as valves, expansion joints, gearboxes & check valves. Rotalign pumps and also read blueprints.Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections. Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.May operate equipment such as: trucks, bobcats, forklifts, mobile cranes, backhoes, loaders, road graders, man lifts, overhead cranes, boom trucks and small mobile equipment.Perform advanced welding & fabrication utilizing (Stick, MIG, Tig, Intershield, Drisco Fusion) on structures (stairways, guards, handrails) & pipefitting.Participate in Safety & Environmental activities.Train and mentor other employees.Act as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.Perform other duties as required.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.Valid Driver’s LicenseFPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.Ability to prioritize repairs and possess excellent decision-making skillsAbility to troubleshoot machine systemsAbility to work and effectively communicate with others in a team environmentMust be proficient in multiple types of welding, fabrication and layoutKnowledge of blue stake processAbility to install bearingsDemonstrate safety as a core value
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years' experience working in a mining environmentExperience repairing and troubleshooting pumps, piping and related systemsPrevious experience of pulling and installing horizontal and submersible pumps and motorsExperience with HDPE pipe handling, repairs, and fusingBasic computer skillsKnowledge of Tohono O'dham Nation laws, policies and government

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $27.00 - $37.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
