Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Quality Coordinator to join our team!
The City of Edmonton selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners to design and build the 14-kilometre Valley Line West LRT project from downtown to Lewis Farms. Construction began in 2021. Marigold is a design-build joint venture agreement between Parsons and Colas.
Responsibilities:
Review construction performance to ensure the early identification of variances and corrective action.Ensure early identification and documentation of non-conformities through regular surveillance audits, site walk downs and other forms of Quality Control activities.Support external ISO 9001 registration and assessment audit programsHold project team accountable for quality control program requirements and the overall Quality Manual.Perform regular surveillance audits to ensure adherence to the ITP program.Ensure understanding of the code and specification requirements applicable to the specific scope of work.Perform internal and external audits in line with the ISO 9001 standard and the Project Audit Schedule, as assigned.Monitor and evaluate the subcontractors' performance and report to the Quality ManagerVerify project requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.Review the material receiving process to ensure all received materials are in conformance with the approved submittal, stored and handled appropriately.May attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate project requirements.Follow up status of issued non-conformance reports.Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or Quality discipline or related field (or equivalent work experience) and typically 4+ years of related work experience in the field of Quality.Good knowledge and experience in the implementation of problem-solving methodology and performance of root cause analysis (i.e. Six Sigma)Good knowledge and experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.Knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, CSA and ASTM codes.Experience interpreting codes and specifications.Thorough knowledge of general construction methods and construction codes.Ability to accurately read and interpret design documents (drawings and specifications)Understands how to research and locate manufacturer's product data and installation guidelines.Knowledge of building envelope construction and materials.Understands the requirements of fire-rated construction requirements.Strong organizational skills.Proficiency in MS Office and quality management systems.
