Field Research Equipment Operational Effectiveness Intern

You will:

All tasks and activities assigned are executed according to the Company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures. Safety is Syngenta’s first priorityConduct equipment assessments and review historic break down data to build critical pre-season inspection checklists and standard ware item replacement lists for fleeted research equipment to ensure operational readiness prior to season start.Conduct analysis to define the “on-hand” parts inventory list for fleeted equipment to reduce in season down time.Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.Learnings and analysis conducted throughout internship will culminate with a final report and presentation to key stakeholders on proposed outputs as defined in project accountabilities.

To support that challenge, the NA Seeds Development Trialing team is currently seeking a Field Research Equipment Operational Effectiveness Intern in Slater, IA. As an intern in this role, you will be responsible for defining/improving the pre-season preventative maintenance program for research level yield trialing equipment as well as defining the on-hand parts inventory required to reduce in season operational downtime. You will be provided the opportunity of being exposed to yield trial research activities in order to understand how they impact equipment readiness, allowing you to apply your academic background and experience to help Syngenta drive improvements in fleet operating efficiency.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Requires a High School diploma or equivalentMust be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Precision Agriculture, Ag Mechanized Systems, or another closely related field of studyPrefer a student with Junior or Senior standingMust have a valid Driver's LicenseAll applicants must be eligible to work in the US

Preferred Requirements:

High level of communication (oral and/or written) is extremely important to keep team organized and aware to ensure high quality trialing and executionAttention to detail, and agility to adjust plans and execute accordinglyIndependent, self-motivated, driven, and customer focused individual able to produce high quality dataExperience in Precision Agriculture is preferredFarm or agriculture background is preferred but not required
