Welcome to the role of Field Safety Supervisor. In this position, you will provide on-going support of safety initiatives in a manner that will continually improve the safety culture throughout the Company. This position is responsible to promote and ensure all employees successfully maintain a culture of safety and utilize safety best practices.

This individual must have a full understanding of safety and compliance regulations as well as a general knowledge of environmental, housekeeping, and safety best practices. This position requires frequent and regular travel with overnight stays and must be willing to work extended hours as needed. Depending on job needs, this individual may be required to work out of town for a prolonged period of time.

 

What You'll Do Ensure and enforce that employees follow company, customer, and regulatory agency safety policies and procedures through regular site visits, communication, education, etc.Identify and correct deficiencies in safety practices on site with all personnelTeach or instruct hands-on safety classes in the shop, field, or classroom as neededEncourage employees to perform work safely by maintaining positive relationshipsInspect job sites to ensure that equipment is set up, utilized, and maintained in a safe and compliant mannerCommunicate with on-site customer representatives to ensure positive communication and that safety practices are being followedDocument and report company and employee safety practices and deficienciesReview customer contracts and site-specific safety plans for safety and compliance requirementsParticipate in pre-job planning, customer safety meetings, site-specific safety orientationsCollaborate with other safety personnel and managers as needed to ensure safety compliance and planningCollect and deliver JSA’s and other compliance paperwork between the field and officePlan, develop, manage, and implement special projects as assignedParticipate in an on-call rotation for the safety & compliance report hotline and respond to calls regarding workplace incidentsCollect data concerning incidents, accidents, near misses, and reasonable suspicion reports and relay findings to management

Sit, talk, hear, read, and write Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb a ladderLift and/or move up to 50 pounds as neededMust be able to work at heightsMust be able to work in confined spacesWorks indoors and outdoors in all types of weather on-site at job sites What You'll Bring 2+ years’ experience with Industrial or Construction safety preferredBachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or Management or equivalent education, training, and/or experience preferredCompletion of or working towards instructor certifications such as OSHA 500, OSHA 510, MSHA Part 48 Trainer Card, etc. preferredValid driver’s license requiredEmbraces Safety as a core value Ability to maintain confidentialityBasic knowledge of DOT, OSHA, MSHA and other safety and compliance regulationsPractical knowledge of office procedures and customer relationsPossess strong presentation skills and the ability to relate information both concisely and accuratelyAbility to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels from field personnel to management, customers, and the publicWorking knowledge of personal computers and software packages including specific knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation softwareAbility to remain adaptable and calm under pressure while maintaining a professional composureAbility to meet deadlinesMust maintain certifications relative to the Safety and Compliance requirements How We'll Support You
