Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Perform daily inspection of construction projects monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings and project specifications. Inspections may cross multiple inspection disciplines or within a specified area of expertise. Inspection may include visual/physical inspection and field testing to verify conformance with the plans and specifications. Prepare inspection reports and provide written documentation of observations and testing of materials. Communicate findings to engineer or project manager and when requested collaborate with the project team on solutions to potential issues.

Conduct environmental site investigations, assessments and surveys to sample, measure and analyze air, water, material, and soil. Identify, evaluate and recommend risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Projects may include Phase I/II environmental site assessments, ecological and natural resource field surveys, tank closure assessments, asbestos abatement, storm water management, and site planning and permitting.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures.Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Provides clear documentation of findings and results.Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager.Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspector and/or Project Managers.May assist more senior inspectors on projects.Maintains equipment and calibration.Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.Assist in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to evaluate, plan and permit projects.Drafts written proposals to clients for small projects and may assist with portions of proposals on larger projects.May have limited client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field and minimum 1 year related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years’ related experience.Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.Preferred Certification:Certification in field of expertise preferred.
