Field Service Diesel Technician
**DESCRIPTION** **Job Summary:** Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Avondale, AZ). will make an impact in the following ways: **We offer sign on bonus up to $5k, relocation, competitive pay and benefits!** + Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop + Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools + Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles + Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies + Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products + Maintain own tools **Key Responsibilities:** Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field. Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor. Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Identifies additional service opportunities with customer. Completes training in line with skill and business requirements. Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation. Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor. **RESPONSIBILITIES** In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: + Completes complex internal engine repairs + Performs engine overhauls unassisted + Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components + Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software **QUALIFICATIONS** **Hours of operation range primarily between 6am-6pm. Actual working hours may vary based on business needs. Evenings and occasional weekend work will be required.** **All technicians will be part of a rotating on call schedule.** **DOT** - A current valid license is required for this role - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations - This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical - 3 years driving experience - This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use -Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing. **Education, Licenses, Certifications:** Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Experience:** Basic level field service work experience Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Customer service experience **Compensation and Benefits** Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
