Job Description
The Field Service Engineer will install and start up new equipment, or modify existing equipment at customer facilities to ensure proper operational functionality according to the equipment specifications. The engineer will provide on-site technical assistance to help repair equipment, review equipment reports and documentation from the customer and other field representatives to aid in troubleshooting equipment faults, and test and inspect equipment to determine the root cause of malfunctions.
Essential Skills
+ 7+ years of experience required (10+ years preferred).
+ 5+ years of experience traveling to customers.
+ Strong mechanical capabilities for installs, retrofits, reading blueprints, and understanding mechanical aspects.
+ Experience with electrical wiring, conduit, and piping for water and gas.
+ PLC programming or troubleshooting skills highly preferred.
+ Experience working on industrial equipment and in the heat treat industry or with industrial-size furnaces.
Work Environment
This role will require extensive travel across a significant portion of the US, with over 80% overnight travel expected. The Field Service Engineer will typically live out of a hotel Monday through Friday most weeks. The role involves working around 10 hours of overtime per week. Candidates must reside within 1.5 hours of the Seattle/Tacoma area and should be prepared for hands-on work with industrial equipment in various customer facilities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00/hr.
