Field Service Engineer
Job Title: Field Service Engineer Job Description The Field Service Engineer commissions, calibrates, and services new or modified equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications. The role involves reviewing performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, inspecting malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of problems, and analyzing findings to recommend corrective actions. The engineer will coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs and provide on-site technical assistance for troubleshooting and equipment repair. Additionally, the role involves developing and conducting training on safe equipment operations and demonstrating skills to trainees. Responsibilities + Commission, calibrate, and service new or modified equipment at customer facilities. + Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives. + Inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of problems. + Analyze review and inspection findings to determine the source of problems and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective actions. + Coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs. + Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment. + Develop and conduct training on safe operations of the equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees. Essential Skills + 3+ years of experience as a field engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Mechanical and electrical skills with experience in a manufacturing environment. + Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and commissioning large industrial and/or automation equipment. + Proficiency in DVM, O-Scope, and instruments used in troubleshooting electro schematic diagrams. + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. + Strong communication, math, and computer skills. + Proficiency in Electrical Systems Design of control boxes for industrial equipment. + Knowledge of machine design and parts design for machinery containing control systems. + Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's degree in mechanical discipline from a two-year college or technical school. + Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred. + SAP experience preferred. Work Environment 80% TRAVEL (region specific!) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
