Field Service Engineer - Bay Area
Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesAs our Field Service Engineer, you will conduct on-site installations, customer training (hardware, software, and limited applications), repairs, and preventative maintenance for assigned instrumentation. You will support North American Service Operations and MTAC to include Depot Repair, Field Service, Sales, Customer Service, and Product Management. Additional responsibilities will include: On-site installations, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance of assigned AutoChem instrumentation, including infrared reaction profiling equipment, laser crystallization monitoring equipment, automated lab reactor systems, proprietary software, and associate applications. Providing field service support and expertise to AutoChem end-users on assigned equipment throughout the product's lifecycle, including product positioning, lead generation, and training. Communicating, documenting, and managing customer issues with the Sales, TAC, Product Management, Service, and Quality departments as required. Prioritizing, scheduling, and tracking open service issues to resolution. Documenting and reporting scheduling, utilization, expense, and escalation as required in a timely manner. Proactively controlling scheduling and territory assignments with effective expense management at or below budget.What You Need to SucceedEducation in a chemistry, mechanical, or electrical field. Minimum 1-3 years of experience, including internships or educational lab experience. Ability to travel around 80%, with around 60% overnight travel and 20% local. Location in the Bay Area, CA. Software and hardware literacy and proficiency of Windows-based and embedded operating systems. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.Our Offer to YouMedical, dental and vision care coverage and a 401(k) savings plan with company matching – all starting on date of hire Tuition reimbursement, perks, and discounts Parental and caregiver leave programsAll the usual benefits such as paid time off, flexible spending, short-and long-term disability, basic life insurance, business travel insurance, Employee Assistance Program, and domestic partner benefits Global market strength and worldwide leadership in precision instrumentation A brand name that is identified worldwide with precision, quality, and innovationThousands of patents, design and innovation awards across Mettler Toledo Global recognition for the quality of our products and servicesAbout Mettler ToledoMETTLER TOLEDO is a global leader in precision instruments and services.
