The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will conduct laboratory instrument repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, installation, and preventative maintenance at customer sites. The FSE will primarily handle an assigned territory, but will provide service in other territories as needed.

Location Specific Information:

The ideal candidate must be based in Denver, CO with expected travel through the Pacific Northwest (i.e. UT, WA).

A Day in the Life:

Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades and installs of laboratory instrumentationMust have excellent customer-facing skills and prioritize customer satisfactionMaintain inventory and administrative records in a timely mannerAssist in the development and improvement of service processes and informationAssist other Field Service Engineers with troubleshooting and problem resolutionResolve technical issues with hardware, firmware and softwareMust be proactive in resolving instrument issues before they become chronic by finding a root cause and developing a course of actionRemain current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, technical bulletins and other relevant materialsEnsure accurate communication and/or documentation for product complaints per SOPMaintain records and reports, coordinate activities with peers, manager and customers to minimize equipment downtime and interruptionsIn addition, other duties may be assigned as the business need warrants.

Keys to Success

Education:

Must have associate’s degree in electronics, engineering, biomedical technology or other applicable field of study. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology preferred

Experience:

2+ years of experience with related science, engineering and/or customer skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to handle a large territory and perform service training, customer training, support and repair of laboratory equipmentMust be able to travel at least 75% with overnight staysMay be required to travel to customer sites with as little as 24 hours noticeMust be able to take at least 10 paid on-call weekends in a yearMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Colorado is $28.85–$43.27.
