How will you make an impact?

As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in our mission, delivering outstanding service and technical expertise. You will work closely with a top-notch team, implementing innovative solutions and encouraging high customer happiness. This challenging role will be dedicated to a site in North Kingstown, RI, with occasional travel to nearby states.

What will you do?

Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and validation of mass spectrometry instrumentation.Provide technical expertise to meet customer needs.Provide phone and live support to resolve customer service requests applying strong interpersonal skills.Schedule and track service calls, manage personal parts inventories, and complete job tasks and service reports using customer management software.Review performance reports and documentation from customers and other field representatives, inspecting malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of problems.Coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service delivery.Regularly attend factory-provided technical and service training on the latest mass spectrometry products developed by Thermo Fisher Scientific.Provide accurate and timely completion of service reports, expense reports, company-provided car maintenance, and other administrative tasks.

How will you get here?

Education:

BS degree in Sciences, Engineering, Electronics preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.Background in Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred.

Experience

3+ yrs experience with mass spectrometry preferred

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesMust have a valid driver’s license.Ability to travel up to 20% for overnight domestic travel.Ability to work overtime and/or outside regular business hours, and/or on-call work.Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move 100+ pounds.Experience with troubleshooting and repairing analytical equipment preferred.Experience with method development and analytical chemistry preferred.
