Field Service Fleet Support Technician IV

Role Summary The Field Service Fleet Support Technician IV will be responsible for overdelivering on the internal and external customer experience at our service locations. The ideal candidate will possess the technical acumen and the ability to provide a strong level of customer service. You will be working with our internal partners every day to assist with service needs and coordinate with our Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineer teams. This role will require a dynamic and resourceful leader with excellent oral and written communications skills, who will foster cross functional interaction and champion a culture of continuous improvement to support Service teams and customers within a Service center. To be successful in this role, you must have a customer-first approach, thrive in ambiguous and unexpected environments, tackling all challenges with a creative and flexible mindset. Experience in automotive, process standardization, continuous improvement, and managing escalations is a plus. Responsibilities Support the launch of our Electric Delivery Vehicle (EDV) operations in new markets – training service teams to manage the B2B process, schedule appointments, and communicate with our delivery service partners (DSPs) Train and support EDV service processes for new service centers Responsible for ensuring establishment of safe service business practices and processes Support set up, training, and Launch at upcoming Service Centers   Provide support to the field to support the Service organization Support, Train, Coach, and Mentor other technicians as assigned  Able to work independently performing mobile repairs  Perform diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles  Diagnose and repair moderate to complex electrical and mechanical vehicle issues  Support campaigns and containment initiatives  Work with a collaborative attitude and team spirit in an ever-changing, dynamic environment  Maintain high quality work and efficiency while working with little supervision  Work with a collaborative attitude and team spirit in an ever-changing, dynamic environment   Ability to perform duties and communicate with a high level of professionalism, in a customer-facing environment  Follow Rivian repair procedures with efficiency without compromising quality and safety  Qualifications Automotive Technology/Technician Degree or equivalent experience  5 or more years of automotive experience  3 or more years of EV experience  Experience using a variety of test tools including a PICO-scope, PCAN, Kvaser Memorator, & breakout box  Experience in bumper-to-bumper diagnosis and repair  Hybrid repair background a plus  OEM Certified Master Technician is a plus  OEM Specific Technician Training is a plus  Strong Mechanical and Electrical diagnostics experience, including high voltage systems  Strong written and communications skills  Strong organizational skills with attention to detail  Has had experience mentoring and coaching other technicians  Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer    Ability to travel as needed (up to 80% or extended assignments) and work in service center locations or offsite with our B2B partners Must possess avalid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record  Experience working in start-up environments preferred  No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years  No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years  Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle  Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring  Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs)  Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners  Strong understanding of written and spoken English  Ability to see, read and interpret documents such as governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions or schematics.  Must be at least 21 years old  Must be available for a regular schedule of a minimum 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, according to business need.
