Field Service Mechanic
**Job Title: Field Service Mechanic** **Job Description** + Provide technical support for aircraft pilot seats, including repair and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and upholstery components using hand and occasionally power tools. Follow computerized component maintenance manuals, and occasionally travel to aircraft factories for installs, removals, or troubleshooting. Interface with customers and home office engineering and technical support staff via phone and email to resolve issues and complete repairs. Document all work, complete paperwork, and track tasks using SAP and Excel. **Responsibilities** + Repair aircraft pilot seats by removing and replacing mechanical, electrical, and upholstery components. + Use hand and occasionally power tools to complete repairs. + Follow computerized component maintenance manuals. + Travel to aircraft factories for installations, removals, or troubleshooting as needed. + Communicate with customers and home office engineering and technical support staff via phone and email. + Handle seats that arrive damaged, missing parts, or require component swaps due to engineering work orders. + Complete documentation, paperwork, and track work in SAP and Excel. **Essential Skills** + Experience using hand tools for repair or assembly of mechanical components. + Ability to read blueprints and instructions in English. + Excellent communication skills in English. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with aircraft interior component repair, including seating. + Familiarity with technical drawings and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM). **Why Work Here?** + Enjoy job security with no risk of layoffs or reductions. The small team environment minimizes corporate interference, providing a great long-term opportunity for retirement and wealth-building. **Work Environment** + Work within a small, close-knit team of two Field Service Mechanics providing in-house, on-site technical support for sophisticated pilot seats for commercial aircraft. The main facility in Kent features a large space with a loading dock, seat storage, parts inventory, and multiple work areas equipped for seat part removal and replacement. Occasionally, you will travel to aircraft factories using a company van. The workload varies but there is always something to do. Typical hours are 6:30am - 2:30pm, with some flexibility for a 7am - 3:30pm shift. Rare on-call weekends.
