Job Specifications

Rate of pay:

Sr. Serviceperson rate of pay is $26.94 per hour

This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary growth.

No experience required.  Entry level position with on-the-job training.  Annual and step progression wage increases based on current union and company contractual agreement. Requires a valid California Driver’s License with minimal moving violations, a high school diploma, or the equivalent.  A California State Water Resources Control Board Distribution Certificate 1 is desired but not required upon hire. If an applicant is hired or a current employee is transferred into this roll, employee must obtain a minimum of a California State Water Resource Control Board Distribution Certificate 1 within one year. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, performs duties such as the following depending upon the assignment: 

Drive a company vehicle. Read, troubleshoot, repair, install, replace and test water meters. Initiate and terminate water services.   Provide superior customer service with customers face to face or over the phone while responding to customer inquiries/complaints. Works with various equipment including meter reading devices, cell phones, laptops, and larger construction equipment.   Special projects and assignments as required. NATURE OF WORK

Position requires the ability to work with little direct on-site supervision.  A portion of the position is sedentary driving a company vehicle. Another portion of the position is done outside with exposure to the elements.  Position requires ability to perform labor-intensive activities such as:

Lifting 50lbs unaided Working long hours. Overtime included. Walking and/or climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling on varied terrain for long periods of time. May require working in hazardous work areas including high traffic roadways, trenches, excavations, confined spaces, elevated areas, and backyards of private properties. Digging.
