**Role Summary**
The Field Services Specialist is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all information and communications systems at Alaska Air Group facilities and contracted locations. This role requires a solid understanding of enterprise information and communications systems. This includes but not limited to: Physical hardware, software configurations, virtual components, networks, telephony, and radio communications. In addition, the Field Services Specialist is expected to regularly participate in medium and large cross divisional technology projects. This will require the ability to provide management and oversight to vendors, contractors, and peers to implement technology projects.
At our core the Field Services Specialist will be the face of IT to our internal and external customers, and the ability to deliver results under difficult circumstances is required. Excellent customer service is necessary for both the employees we support and our passengers.
**Key Duties**
+ Install and provide first and second-level support of information, communication, and airport related systems.
+ With a sense of urgency, support the operation and communicate effectively with end-users.
+ Represent IT and Field Services effectively in interactions with company leaders.
+ Ability to learn and understand the business and how to prioritize issues effectively.
+ Ensure reported problems are resolved in a timely manner. Provide follow up on all outstanding incidents until fully resolved.
+ Provide technical assistance to end-users in support of desktop computers, software, mobile, peripherals, displays, telephones, radios, and all other supported systems.
+ Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all supported systems and physical locations.
+ Provide technical assistance to companion work groups in support of projects and maintenance ensuring good inter-departmental relations and communication.
+ Assist and lead contractors, vendors and peers with implementations and problem resolution of IT systems.
+ Demonstrate the ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively using project management best practices.
+ Plan, organize and complete projects of various scope and complexity; may include providing work direction to contractors, vendors and other resources.
+ Understanding of blueprints and ability to work in construction environments.
+ Understanding of cable plant design and installation, both fiber and copper, termination, and testing.
+ Seek out innovative and creative solutions to technical and administrative issues within the framework of company policies.
+ Seek to improve process, training, and abilities of the field systems team.
+ Able to work effectively with minimum oversight or guidance.
+ Shift, weekend, after-hours, and on-call work required.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills**
**Required**
+ 2 years of work experience implementing and/or supporting Infrastructure computing systems.
+ Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
+ Project Management experience.
+ Documented IT experience.
+ Demonstrated exceptional customer service.
+ The ability to lift/stand/bend/climb to meet the position requirements.
+ Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (e.g., evenings, weekends, holidays, and after-hours etc.).
+ Requires a minimum of 50% of time traveling.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum age of 18.
+ Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
**Preferred**
+ Experience with telephony and radio communications.
+ Experience supporting multiple technical platforms (Windows, MAC OS, VMware, iOS, SCCM, Altiris) a plus
+ Airline experience is a preferred.

**Salary Range**
$74,400 -- $111,600 / year
**Salary Details**
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
**Note:** We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
