PURPOSE OF POSITION

\n

To provide the leadership to the Mining Operations team and ensure delivery in terms of customer satisfaction, service delivery and operational financial performance.

\n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

\n\nOverall responsible for HSSE and Compliance; to ensure an incident and injury-free workplace and compliance towards Mining customer policies, GVR policies and all relevant laws and legislations including 2.6.1 appointment. \nResponsible for cost performance for the service and installation operations team.\nCo-operate with Mining Operations and projects teams to drive and deliver profitable growth through delivering upgrade opportunities on current business.\nDrive lean transformation of the operation to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost within the service and installation value stream.\nBuild and secure quality in teams and service processes to attain or exceed contracted SLA levels, equipment downtime 3hr/ machine/ month and achieve First-Time-Fix > 95% \nManage and grow high performing project business, with focus on HSSE, quality, on-time-delivery, and cost control to optimize customer experience and profitability.\nMake sure that the teams embrace and actively use the full range of Vontier Business Systems’ tools to secure full control of all business KPI`s through daily management.\nBuild team to deliver market leading performance in line with current business needs and strategic plan objectives.\nSupport finance in best possible way to achieve all working capital forecast (inventory, receivable, payable and work in progress).\n\n

DELAGATION OF AUTHORITY

The associate has the authorisation to work within the framework of the actual Delegation of Authorities (DOA).

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS

\n

Internal            

\n\nNeeds to report key issues and corrective actions to the Field Services Manager and Operations Director as deemed necessary.\nNeeds to work closely with peers, HR Business Partner, Regional Sales Manager, Finance Director and the local business controllers to execute service delivery\nNeeds to develop a strong working relationship with all direct reports and ensure that business performance is reviewed regularly on a data-driven basis with corrective actions and countermeasures initiated as required.           \n\n

External

\n\nNeeds to be highly customer focused, and able to form effective working relationships with key customers and suppliers, oil companies, mines and other contractors \n\n

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE (INDICATORS)

\n\nZero Loss Time incidences (LTI), 100% near miss / potential incidences with implemented corrective action within x days, 100% employee participation in NMPI reporting\nService (Installation and Project) profitability to meet budget target\nDeliver budgeted upgrade sales target \nOverall SLA at >95% on a continuous basis.\nFirst-Time-Fix at >95% on a continuous basis.\nDrive continuous productivity level improvements measured by completed jobs per man per day\nOperational costs at or below forecast/budget targets monthly, with countermeasures implemented to reduce costs when targets are missed.\nChargeable Service and Installation Run-Rate revenues at or above targets monthly.\nWorking Capital improvements, with a YOY improvement > +1.0 turns (weighted).\nMeet or exceed all customer contracted KPI’s\n

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

\n

Education/achievements   

\n\nDegree/diploma in engineering or commerce or mining will be an advantage.            \nEngineering and business qualification\nSix Sigma or Lean experience\n\n

Experience/Knowledge        

\n\n10 years’ experience     \nSite and Operational Management, Customer Service Delivery.\n\n

Specific Skills

\n\nHigh technical skills, financial and, contract management             \nCustomer service delivery management\n\n

ROLE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES & BEHAVIOURS 

\n

Mining experience:

\n\nUnderstanding Mining environment, value chain, economic business drivers, market dynamics and customer pain points.\nFuel Management will be an added advantage.\n\n

Commercial background             

\n\nManaging Revenue and Cost budgets\nManaging Profitability\nManaging Contracts and commercial pricing models and cost drivers.\n\n

Fuel Management Background 

\n\nAutomated Fuel dispensing and management technology.\n\n

IT Background  

\n\n Solid understanding of “Big Data” concepts, analytics and interpretation of trends and translating into business value. Industrial IT technology a plus.\n\n

People Management    

\n\nOrganisation development experience.\nLeadership skills with regards a large diverse field force team, coaching and mentoring, being a role model, leading from the front.\nPerformance management, talent management.\n
