As a SupportPro Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for total equipment lifecycle management services that optimize the performance of OEM equipment.  You will travel to customer sites to perform start-ups, product training, repairs, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in the food processing industry.

 *This position must be located near Queretaro, Mexico *

*This is a full-time, travel position (up to 80%)**

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Conduct field service calls at customer sites to provide installation, commissioning, emergency repair, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits, and training services. Perform mechanical and electrical/electronic modifications including PC repair and installs. Evaluates defects and troubleshoots different types of issues affecting computer systems, servers, or networks. Conduct site visit meetings with customer contacts to include explanation of job scope and work completed and conduct training with customers personnel to ensure understanding of the sequence of operations, proper functionality, and general maintenance of equipment. Achieve service delivery goals including response time, first time fix and customer satisfaction rates. Communicate effectively with field service management and internal service support team to efficiently resolve customer issues. Provide equipment reliability feedback to quality engineering and collaborate on improvements. Comply to industry, company, and customer safe working practices. Ensure paperwork, timesheets, CRM entries, expenses and other paperwork functions are completed on time and to a high quality. Periodically perform technical support, final assurance, or other duties at SupportPro HQ. Review customer file prior to departure for service call. Troubleshoot equipment through listening to, observing mechanical/electrical devices in operation, reviewing machine data, etc., to locate causes of issues and concerns. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Starts up and adjusts equipment for proper function. Cleans and lubricates equipment. Operate hoists, jacks and forklifts. Connects electric motors solenoids and other electrical equipment to power sources per electrical drawings. Status communication, repair record maintenance, and other customer and corporate office communication is crucial to success in this position.

What We’re Looking For:

AAS or BS in Mechatronics, EE, EET, EECS, or Industrial Electronics is desired. 3 years’ experience with solid knowledge and interaction of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic components, and HMI 3 years’ experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, emergency service and repairing electronics and mechanical machine problems in the field Interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including schematics Must have a working knowledge of basic electrical/electronic theory and components Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter configuration and Servo drives and motors configurations Valid drivers license and ability to qualify for a US High proficiency in Microsoft Office, and service software technology. Experience with Linux OS preferred

Typical Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle, and feel objects, control and manage tools, and use hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
