Job Title: Field Service Technician - Packaging Machine Specialist
Work Schedule: Travel 85% of the time Mon-Fri
Job Overview: As a Field Service Technician specializing in packaging machines, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for our clients' packaging machinery. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of packaging equipment, minimizing downtime, and optimizing production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:On-Site Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to service calls and travel to client locations to diagnose and resolve issues with packaging machinery. Utilize technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of malfunctions and implement effective solutions.Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of parts as necessary to keep packaging machines in optimal working condition. Conduct repairs and adjustments to mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components to restore functionality and prevent future breakdowns.Technical Support: Provide guidance and assistance to clients' operational staff on the proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of packaging equipment. Offer training sessions or demonstrations to educate end-users on best practices for maximizing machine performance and minimizing errors.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts. Document findings from troubleshooting sessions and provide detailed reports to management and engineering teams for analysis and continuous improvement purposes.Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients by delivering high-quality service, addressing their concerns in a professional manner, and offering proactive recommendations for enhancing machine reliability and performance. Act as a reliable point of contact for technical inquiries and support requests.Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing service tasks on-site. Ensure that packaging machines meet industry standards for quality, safety, and sanitation to support clients' compliance with regulatory agencies and certification bodies.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred.Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing packaging machinery, preferably in a field service or manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and pneumatic controls commonly found in packaging equipment.Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to interpret machine specifications and troubleshoot issues effectively.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.Customer-focused mindset with a dedication to delivering superior service and exceeding client expectations.Flexibility to travel frequently and work independently in various settings, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers.Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Working Conditions:Field-based role with frequent travel to client sites within a designated geographic region.Exposure to industrial environments, including noise, dust, and varying temperatures.Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
