This position will be dispatched out of Sundance and will require travel to various job sites, gravel pits, and plants. The primary function of this position is to be a heavy equipment Field Service Technician with considerable knowledge of Caterpillar machine systems. Primary Responsibilities: + Perform a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment and vehicles, including, but not limited to light duty, heavy-duty trucks, backhoes, loaders, paving equipment, and miscellaneous + Repair tires, wheels, wheel bearings, idler wheels, idler bearings, and oil seals. + Repair hydraulic and air brake + Diagnose and repair Emission control systems. + Diagnose and repair electronic machine systems. + Perform minor repairs on engines, transmissions, transfers, and related electrical, fuel, and hydraulic + Be proficient with computer diagnostic tools such as CAT Electronic Technician, SIS web, and Cummins insight. + Use technical manuals, publications, and equipment-specific programs to identify and order repair + Know how to properly operate large heavy equipment and trucks to diagnose operational specifications. + Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using testing equipment such as compression testers, computer software tools, test meters, micrometers, gauges, and overall strong diagnostic + Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects. + Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive. Position Requirements: + Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test. + Class A CDL and current Medical DOT card. + Accreditation from the school of mechanics or 3 plus years working with heavy construction equipment. + Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms. + Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work. + A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management. + Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors. + Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
