Job Type: Full-time with overtime Experience: 3 years or accredited school of mechanics Reports to: Equipment Manager, no supervisory responsibility Wage: $36-$41 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Benefits/Incentives: + Medical, Dental, Vision, Employee Assistance Program + Company-Paid Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance + Voluntary Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability + Paid Time Off, Holiday, and Bereavement Pay + 401(k) with Company Match + $1500 Sign-On Bonus + Annual Safety Incentive and Clothing Allowance Job Summary: A Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing a full range of diagnostics, repair, and modification work on heavy equipment, primarily Caterpillar and John Deere, and some Bobcat, JLG, Kenworth, and Peterbilt trucks, etc. This position will be based out of Sundance Wyoming. This position will be dispatched out of Sundance and will require travel to various job sites, gravel pits, and plants. The primary function of this position is to be a heavy equipment Field Service Technician with considerable knowledge of Caterpillar machine systems. Work will also be done in the Sundance shop between field jobs and dispatched accordingly. For more information regarding this position, contact Derrick at 307.281.5000. Primary Responsibilities: + Perform a full range of repair and modification work on heavy equipment and vehicles, including, but not limited to light duty, heavy-duty trucks, backhoes, loaders, paving equipment, and miscellaneous + Repair tires, wheels, wheel bearings, idler wheels, idler bearings, and oil seals. + Repair hydraulic and air brake + Diagnose and repair Emission control systems. + Diagnose and repair electronic machine systems. + Perform minor repairs on engines, transmissions, transfers, and related electrical, fuel, and hydraulic + Be proficient with computer diagnostic tools such as CAT Electronic Technician, SIS web, and Cummins insight. + Use technical manuals, publications, and equipment-specific programs to identify and order repair + Know how to properly operate large heavy equipment and trucks to diagnose operational specifications. + Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using testing equipment such as compression testers, computer software tools, test meters, micrometers, gauges, and overall strong diagnostic + Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects. + Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive. Position Requirements: + Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test. + Class A CDL and current Medical DOT card. + Accreditation from the school of mechanics or 3 plus years working with heavy construction equipment. + Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms. + Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work. + A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management. + Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors. + Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
