The Field Service Technician is a high customer contact position responsible for meeting and assessing customer needs and setting, repairing, and maintaining diesel and gasoline tanks. This position does not require any certifications, and we are willing to train the right candidate.  

Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance: 

Ensure adherence to Company and Government safety, policy, and regulatory standards. Maintain zero preventable accidents. Keep accurate safety and compliance records. 

Equipment Installation: 

Set and install diesel/gasoline tanks holding 500-1000 gallons. Install and replace monitors, hoses, etc. 

Vehicle Maintenance and Operation: 

Maintain and operate service vehicles. Review maintenance records. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections. Report all vehicle conditions requiring attention for safe operation and proper maintenance. 

Performance Standards: 

Strong customer focus Meet established performance metrics such as billable time, productivity, and efficient usage of inventory and equipment. 

Professionalism and Customer Relations: 

Maintain a professional image and respectful relations with customers and the public. Address customer inquiries and provide superior customer service. Upsell when possible.  Strive to maintain zero service-related customer complaints. 

Documentation: 

Maintain trip reports, shipping papers, system test documentation, and related information. 

Skill Development and Training: 

Observe, learn, and apply knowledge and skills from more experienced technicians. Provide guidance to less experienced technicians as appropriate. Attend company-sponsored and industry-related training as needed. 

Independent Work and Support: 

Work independently with onsite and/or remote support and direction from the manager and senior personnel. May provide guidance to less experienced technicians. 

 Additional Duties: 

Perform additional duties as needed. 

 

Qualifications

Skills: 

Customer Service Product Knowledge Quality Focus Problem Solving Market Knowledge 

Qualifications and Education Requirements: 

High School diploma or GED equivalent. One or more years of relevant experience. CDL (Commercial Driver s License) A or B with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements. 

 

Preferred Skills but not required: 

Petroleum experience. CDL B license 

Physical Demands: 

The physical activities and requirements described are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: 

Continuously: Bend, crouch, stoop. Drive and operate motorized equipment. Handle controls, tools, and other equipment with moving mechanical parts. Reach with arms and hands for extended periods while driving and operating equipment. Utilize hands and other body parts in repetitive motion. Utilize manual dexterity and eye/hand/foot coordination. Twist back and neck. Push, pull, lift, carry up to 75 pounds. Frequently: Balance, kneel, shovel, stack, sweep. Climb in and out of vehicle throughout the shift while maintaining three points of contact. Stand and walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces and rugged terrain. Utilize feet in repetitive motion. Work in adverse weather conditions. Pull hose over adverse ground conditions. Occasionally: Pull, push, lift, carry 80-100 pounds. Be exposed to vibration, flammables, and combustibles. Work at heights or above a lower level. Be exposed to electrical shock, fumes, vapors, and other airborne particulates. Sensory Requirements: Must be able to hear vehicle and equipment sounds. Specific vision abilities include depth perception, distance and close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
