Your Opportunity at SECURE Energy
We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our Richmond, BC team. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for receiving and identifying bulk waste materials from various sources, including vac trucks and dump trucks, as well as handling containerized waste arriving via truck & trailer or cube van. Responsibilities also include identifying, consolidating, and packaging containerized waste for treatment and disposal, ensuring all shipments comply with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR). In addition, the Field Service Technician will perform field tests to identify chemicals, package and document waste for transport, and advise customers on best practices for waste handling.

Work Environment
This position entails a standard 40-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, with occasional on-call duties. This role may require flexibility in shifts, extended hours, weekend work, and occasional travel as dictated by business needs. Candidates must be prepared to work in challenging work environments including working outdoors in all weather conditions.
A Day in The Life
Attend safety meetings and abide by SECURE’s Occupational Health and Safety Program. Participate in Daily Tailgate Meetings and periodic facility inspections Complete and document safety assessments. Conduct on-site testing to ensure materials comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards Accurately collect and record data for reporting purposes. Travel to various locations throughout BC to complete Field Services tasks on client sites. Complete waste pickups utilizing cube vans, pickup trucks, and equipment trailers. Sample, segregate, package, and transport hazardous wastes to our processing facility. Complete appropriate manifest / paperwork to support the waste pick up. Evaluate customer needs and communicate it back to the appropriate Sales Representatives or Project Coordinators. Respond to and support all Incident Response work. Operate small equipment such as forklifts, pumps, etc.Skills, Experience, & Qualifications
Post-Secondary Science education related to: Chemistry is considered an asset 2-3 years of experience in a Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Sciences role is considered an asset Previous experience in a related work environment where TDG or WHMIS is an essential part of the job Technical and regulatory knowledge related to the waste services industry, with the ability to ensure compliance of waste transport rules, regulatory requirements and TDG regulations Competent at completing documents on a daily basis including safety paperwork, waste manifests, and bills of lading Good understanding of the regional Occupational Health and Safety requirements and ability to operate mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, occasional unplanned overtime hours, challenging work site environments and demanding work loads Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks on a daily basis including lifting/lowering/pushing/pulling containers and other heavy objects, along with the ability to spend a major portion of each day on your feet Proficient with a wide range of computer programs including MS Office, and an aptitude for learning additional industry specific programs on computer and mobile devices. Good time management skills and ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.What’s in it for you:
