Wastequip Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing customers, maintenance, and installation services throughout Houston, TX and surrounding areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Uses company truck to travel to customer to inspect and/or perform repairs and installations Install waste and recycling equipment - trash compactors, cardboard balers, densifiers, etc. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and clean as required Diagnose and repair issues Upgrade equipment in the field and/or shop Maintain the service vehicle Document job orders and progress Communicates with customers on the status of repairs as often as needed to keep them informed of progress Keeps service truck, equipment and all tools clean and organized at all times Records and documents all parts used and labor hours for all repairs Serve as a mentor/trainer for junior service technicians

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years of experience repairing waste and recycling equipment Experience as a road mechanic preferred Clean driving record + must have Driver's License  Dependable and punctual Customer oriented Experience reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics/drawings Experience with AC/DC electrical control and power circuits Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Experience in welding & sheet metal fabrication Able to enter and work in plants/refineries on any given workday

Regularly lift 30--50 pounds Regularly perform repetitive tasks Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane Will be exposed to a physical environment, involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday Interact in a courteous manner with employees, customers and the public Promote a culture of teamwork through positive communication, leading by example
