Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Field Service Technician to join one of our largest defense clients out of Warren, MI. This person will join the Vehicle Integration Team, working on ground combat vehicles and simulators to build and integrate cables, hardware, and various LRUs. This person will join an interdisciplinary team of managers, engineers, and technicians. This role requires 60% of the time to be spent building harnesses, cables, setting up benches, etc. The other 40% of this role requires building and working on computers within the lab mainly on the IT side. If a person is coming mainly from the IT side within their experience, they are comfortable mentoring / teaching someone up within the electrical side for cables, harnesses, etc. This role has less than 10% travel, and is mainly fully onsite at the Warren, MI. They are looking for a self-starter who is ready to hit the ground running! Other responsiblites include:
- Fabricate/modify bracketry and boxes for custom installs.
- Modify/repair electrical/mechanical issues in base vehicle platforms as needed.
- Install electrical cabling and equipment into Ground Vehicles and Simulators.
$25/hr to $40/hr : Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements
- 5+ years of experience within computer systems and other relevant electronics
- Experience with wire harnesses, cables fabrication, soldering, etc. OR willingness to learn these
- Certifications within: Security+, Network+, CompTIA A+, or related
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance - PCB soldering / fabrication
- Previous DoD experience
- Active Secret Clearance null
