We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Field Service Operations Manager and will be based in San Jose, CA (South Bay Area) .  

*Candidate needs to live within 10 miles of San Jose, CA*

Role and Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary driver for maintaining Bloom Energy servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Utilize extensive product and industry knowledge to offer technical support to customers, specializing in fuel cell system maintenance, site upkeep, safety protocols, and issue resolution.Demonstrate proficiency in working independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.Possess a comprehensive understanding of diverse electrical and mechanical systems, enabling effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.Effectively manage internal and external communication channels to coordinate tasks and ensure seamless operations.

Skills and Experience: 

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/repair skills; understanding of mechanical systems, piping, plumbing and valve operation preferredElectrical experience required, troubleshooting & repair skills necessaryPrior experience as an electrician in any of the following: 3phase systems, UPS (back-up power) systems, maintenance, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, Automatic Transfer Switch Systems, and microprocessor-based control platforms is highly beneficialExperience with various test and measurement equipment, electrical codes and personnel safety products and procedures.Must be able to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprintsExperience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standard for Electrical PowerExperience with monitoring/operating systems in operationBasic understanding of requirements of working safelyIdentifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills to deal with most situations.Highly motivated and able to work independentlyDemonstrates sound judgmentA team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism in all situationsAble to communicate effectively in English in both written and or verbal form to facilitate duties as requiredAble to follow procedures and execute sequenced work instructions from either written and or verbal communicationsAble to facilitate 24x7 operations as neededAble to facilitate On Call Duty as neededAble to facilitate shift work as neededAble to travel as needed
