Job DescriptionWhat you can look forward to as a Field Service Technician:
Perform repair/replacement of ZF transmissions, auxiliary & driveline components at ZF or at customer's site Remanufacture & installation of ZF transmissions, auxiliary & driveline components Interact with end-customer fleets to install ZF products, train drivers, get vehicle performance data, and address topics that arise Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis, ensure completion of all 8-Ds for testing-development issues Give effective presentations to critical/high-level customers and effectively represent work group on review panels and cross-organizational teams. Diagnose vehicles in the field, document field test plans and publish test reports with all necessary backup material Prepare work instructions for all aspects of Engineering Test Trucks & Transmission evaluation Provide technical support to Service, Procurement, Sales and Marketing Organizations, OEMs, and vendors Estimate, track, and complete projects on time and within budget Responsible for DOT safety sensitive product on ZF's Fleet vehicles Monitor ZF and Customer's Customer Fleet Trucks May perform product training to customers or team members Communicates with customers in the field
Your Profile as a Field Service Technician:
High School diploma (associate's degree preferred) Minimum of 3 years of commercial vehicle and/or heavy equipment experience; heavy industrial mechanic or bus transmission mechanic experience is ideal Heavy mechanical background and travel experience Strong verbal/written communication and computer skills Must be able to acquire and maintain a CDL and High Voltage Certification Must have valid Driver’s License
