Field Service Technician
Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description

This role directly collaborates with the sales force by helping to discover customer needs and maintain account relationships. The individual will oversee the life cycle and implementation of chemical feed equipment, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. The role also involves conducting laboratory testing on various samples taken during processes, reporting results daily, and ensuring proper inventory levels.

ResponsibilitiesInstall new equipment according to specifications and safety guidelines.Frequently inspect and maintain equipment to identify and remedy potential issues to prevent equipment failure.Conduct daily chemical analysis and report variables throughout the processing, including pH, conductivity, and other qualitative and quantitative analyses.Repair equipment and its components when necessary.Monitor and adjust chemical levels and applications frequently.Document inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment with precision and accuracy.Regularly report on equipment status.Interact regularly with customers to understand their needs and concerns.Communicate repair procedures and provide optimization recommendations for equipment to customers.Maintain high levels of safety standards at all times, including HAZMAT compliance.Train end-users on the proper implementation and maintenance of equipment and document customer training.Maintain and manage chemical and equipment inventory.Continually educate oneself on technology and industry standards and attend training sessions.Essential SkillsStrong communication and relationship-building skills.Technical skills and ability to perform duties in an industrial mill environment.Experience with laboratory testing, chemical analysis, and mechanical repairs.Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.Knowledge of heavy machinery, electrical systems, HVAC, and industrial maintenance.Ability to maintain high safety standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Chemistry or Biology strongly preferred.Previous laboratory and chemical testing experience preferred.Experience in a mill environment highly preferred.Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends.Willingness to travel for training purposes.Work Environment

The work environment is in a papermill and industrial setting, characterized by very hot working conditions. Candidates will be on their feet for most of the day and must be comfortable with repetitive lab testing and routine shift work. The role occasionally requires being 'on call' during weekends and being available to work at any hour of the day, if needed. Candidates may need to travel to locations such as Memphis, TN, and Mobile, AL for training, typically involving 3–4 weekday trips.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
