Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will ensure that products perform to the stated product specifications and meet the customer’s expectations for their stated application needs and performance. Develop long-term customer relationships by providing exemplary service and support to assure service contract renewals to help build year-to-year service revenue.

ResponsibilitiesImplement hardware products and systems, and provide integration, site, and phone support to customers.Perform in-house repairs for equipment returned from customer sites.Consult with customers to preplan installation activities prior to on-site arrival.Review schematics, blueprints, manuals, and other specifications to determine procedures and scope of work.Independently operate MVG systems to demonstrate functionality and report malfunctions.Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to repair equipment during onsite visits.Communicate technically with customers while servicing and repairing equipment.Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unknown problems in system operation and maintenance, escalating issues to management if needed.Ensure the quality of service delivered in support of customers.Train other team members in various aspects of the job, including electric interfaces, subsystems, turnkey systems, and tools/instruments for onsite use.Provide labor and material cost insights to support sale proposals, conduct site surveys, mockup block diagrams, review proposed hardware configurations for accuracy, and provide applications support.Conduct pre-installation surveys to identify special requirements and set on-site expectations with customers.Maintain a completed checklist for all project integration services and ensure customers witness all functional testing prior to leaving the site.Troubleshoot issues over the phone, document customer contact, issue RMA numbers, and work with manufacturing on the repair process as required.Obtain an OSHA certificate to support customer activities on-site.Support weekend tasks to minimize back-and-forth travel.Essential SkillsMechanic experience and/or RF experienceExperience with motors, gearing, transitions, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and VNA/PNAAbility to obtain clearance and pass a background checkProficient with MS Windows and its office programsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work while stooping, crawling, reaching, and lifting heavy boxes/equipment with and without assistanceAbility to operate tools such as hammer drills, grinders, and sawsAdditional Skills & QualificationsFormer military experience is a plusValid driver’s license3-5 years of experience in low-voltage, heavy-duty electrical equipmentAbility to operate metrology equipment such as a theodolite or laser tracker is a plusPreferred: College Experience or Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or similarWork Environment

The position is located in Warminster, Orlando, Tucson, Alabama, and New Hampton. It requires 50% travel, with bi-weekly travel involving one week of travel followed by one week at home.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $46.00/hr.
