Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
This position is responsible for pre-and post-field installations, cabling, equipment testing, system configuration setup, image quality adjustments, equipment maintenance, and record completion throughout the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
+ Follow company engineering procedures and guidelines in the installation of photo enforcement/speed equipment in the field.
+ Stage, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and service mechanical and electrical equipment on new and existing installations.
+ Interact with clients and provide training on relevant systems (LPR/Siteops) when needed.
+ Perform and document initial image quality evaluations and adjustments.
+ Work alongside sr Field Engineer to perform the pre-build and system setup: PC, storage, router, and all other ancillary equipment.
+ Perform cabling installation and termination including Cat5e, Cat6, RF/IF cable, coaxial, and low voltage cabling in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
+ Program and configure photo enforcement equipment.
+ Occasionally drive and maintain company vehicles.
+ Inform appropriate management of potential electrical/mechanical problems and perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.
+ Perform daily equipment performance checks and maintain records/logs, including installation configurations in checklists and diagrams and updating company maintenance modules.
+ Assist when the speed and radar devices are annually calibrated.
+ Maintain all records and logs them appropriately.
+ Assist Project Manager with pre-install site surveys, the necessary training will be provided.
+ Primary technical responsibility for any cameras located throughout the state of Georgia as assigned.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of IP-based cameras
+ General knowledge of IP networking
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows Desktop, web browsers
+ Knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering
+ Proficient experience with hand tools and measuring instruments, including multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.
+ General understanding of structured cabling & wiring
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certification in electrical engineering or systems, or related technology degree with 2 years of experience in the installation and operation of surveillance systems (CCTV)
+ Associate degree in the technical field with 1-2 years of relevant installation experience
+ Training courses and certificates in electronic sensors and systems with at least 3 years of relevant installation experience
+ Must be a good communicator and independent worker
Work Environment
This position is based in the Roswell area. Candidates will need to report into the Roswell office 2 days a week and will be on the road the other 3 days. The position involves site-to-site travel and a company vehicle will be provided for travel. If a company vehicle is not available initially, candidates must be able to use their own car/truck and will be reimbursed until a company vehicle becomes available. The role requires working in varying outdoor weather conditions, carrying and transporting loads up to 50 lbs, long periods of driving throughout the local and surrounding areas, good vision with correction, and the ability to differentiate colors between light signals. Candidates must be willing to work in high voltage areas, at various heights, ladders, etc. Occasional evenings and weekends work may be required based on job demands. Must be willing to drive at least 75% of the workday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
