Field Service Technician

TEKsystems is seeking a Field Service Technician for one of our clients based out of Columbus, OH. The Field Service Technician will provide technical assistance to associates and staff, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, installing applications, managing user accounts, and troubleshooting desktop computers and peripherals. As the first point of contact for technical support, the technician will deliver exceptional service through the help desk system.
Top Skills Required:
+ 2+ years of experience in desktop support or equivalent, with a solid understanding of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
+ Proficiency in diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques.
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively interact with users.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, software, operating systems, network connectivity, and peripherals.
+ Address and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, DNS errors, and IP conflicts.
+ Install and update applications, drivers, and operating systems on user workstations.
+ Create, modify, and delete user accounts, manage access permissions, and perform password resets.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, such as faulty RAM, hard drive failures, and malfunctioning peripherals.
+ Enforce security policies on user workstations, including password management and software updates.
+ Log, track, and prioritize user-reported issues using a ticketing system.
+ Provide basic training to users on new applications or system features.
+ Collaborate with department end users to ensure functionality and verify system operations.
+ Collect and report data to support operational improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
+ Proven experience as a Desktop Technician or in a similar role.
+ Strong network troubleshooting abilities.
+ Experience working in an enterprise or corporate IT environment.
+ Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, or equivalent experience.
+ Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems and imaging software.
+ Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
+ Familiarity with IT systems in healthcare or other regulated industries is a plus.
Desired Skills:
+ Hardware deployment and troubleshooting.
+ Experience supporting macOS, mobile devices, and various technologies.
+ Strong interpersonal traits, including being proactive, relatable, conversational, enthusiastic, clear in communication, and self-motivated.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.64 - $21.64/hr.
