Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill the Field Service Technician position in Wilmington, DE to assist in the coordination and implementation all phases of the overhaul and maintenance activities of our SIEMENS ACS-64 locomotives and beyond. You will also be responsible for assisting in various maintenance activities with our customers, training maintenance personnel, and advising on the best maintenance practices and techniques.
Setting a safe work environment and proactively supporting our customers is essential to the function. You will collaborate with the operational, engineering, and dispatching departments for the railroad's safe, cost-effective, and efficient operations. Weekly shift hours can change based on customer schedule and maintenance needs. This is an onsite 1st shift position working Monday – Friday.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Provide a positive customer service experience by establishing a rapport with Customer management and maintenance facility personnel. Ensure the provision of high-quality technical advice to the customer's overhaul and maintenance workforce to improve the equipment reliability of the ACS-64 fleet. Ensure responsiveness and support to finishing the troubleshooting and repairs assigned to service requests. Ensure the delivery of ongoing system operation training for the customers. Identify Non-conformance issues and improvement recommendations. Assists the customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair works. Ensure accurate communication between the customer, our Rail Support Center, and the field team when required. Give feedback to the team regarding performance, quality, and efficiency issues. Work with 3rd party vendors, such as KNORR, to ensure proper operation of vendor components installed on the locomotive. Continually progress customers' maintenance practices to support the ACS-64 locomotive as intended by the manual.To thrive in this role, you have:
Associate’s degree in electrical technology or other technical field of study or a minimum of 2+ years of electrical/mechanical experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience troubleshooting electrical (both AC and DC circuits), Mechanical, and Pneumatic systems. Experience interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.Strong technical communication skills. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office (including Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint) products. Ability to travel 10% Setting you apart from others would be experience in rolling stock (railroad) maintenance and commissioning or other rail-related experience as well as knowledge of Railroad Regulatory, FRA requirements, and guidelines.Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

The base salary range for this position in Philadelphia, PA is $64,500 - $87,100. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
