Job Description

As an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician (I&E Tech), you will spend the majority of your time time analyzing, troubleshooting, improving, and maintaining electrical power circuits and equipment for new plant in the Odessa area. You will also be responsible for maintaining and upgrading control and automation systems and instrumentation, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pump stations, water plant operations, and measurement facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities 

Installing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipmentEnsuring completion of all appropriate documentation Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drives, and auxiliary equipmentIdentify, report, and correct safety and environmental concernsPerform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirementsMentor and train employees when the opportunity presents itselfMaintain electrical switch gear and power distributionResponsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all tools and equipment, as neededOversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third partiesStay up to date on Operations Qualifications and required trainingInterface and communicate with customers and suppliers as requiredComplies with company safety and quality policies and code of conduct

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

Proficient with electronic test instruments and measurement devicesKnowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagramsKnowledge of Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel & WordMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurersAbility to work with a team and coordinate work schedulesDemonstrates a high attention to details and is able to follow work processes, standards, and requirementsMust be able to work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etcMust be able to respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies (within 1 hour) during and after regular business hours.

Preferred:

Knowledge of simple programming and PLC software Knowledge of Allen Bradley hardware and software Experience working with water treatment equipment
