Reporting to the Field Service Manager the Field Service Technician is responsible for performing service, repairs, and start-ups of advanced water treatment systems at customer locations. With a focus on ensuring optimal water quality, the responsibilities include conducting electrical and mechanical testing, diagnosing system failures, and providing guidance to customers for maintaining their UV systems. Expertise in this role will be critical to successfully fulfilling both existing and new service contracts.

This position is part of the North America Field Service Team located in Long Island and will remote. You must be located in Long Island/New York/New Jersey/Connecticut

In this role, a typical day will look like:

You will be the first point of contact for all customer interactions and cultivate key customer relationships to interpret their needs and requirements

Develop a technical working knowledge of all Trojan product lines and serve as a technical resource for supporting customers

Travel at least 90% of the time within or outside your hiring region. 

Solve problems, evaluate systems and processes to isolate root causes, and implement corrective actions as required 

The essential requirements of the job include:  

3 to 5 years of Field Service Experience

Ability to read and interpret drawings (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)

Familiarity with electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical principles

Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, sales, and operations to help resolve site-specific difficulties

Previous experience traveling for a significant amount of time for work.
 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience: 

Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a logical thought process a must

Working with PLCs, Specifically Allen Bradley, WAGO, and Siemens

Familiarity with water treatment processes is considered an asset

Experience in dealing with technical issues in a customer service setting is considered an asset

Strong organization and project management skills, ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and complex tasks

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $34 - $38 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
