What will you do?

We require an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team in our team. Field Service Technician is responsible for the testing, validation, and commissioning of locomotives to ensure they meet all operational and safety standards before entering service. This role involves hands-on work with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on locomotives, requiring detailed knowledge and precision. The technician will work closely with engineering teams, quality control, and project managers to ensure that all aspects of the locomotive function correctly and efficiently

Testing and Validation

Perform comprehensive tests on all locomotive systems, including propulsion, braking, electrical, pneumatic, and communication systemConduct functional, Qualification, and routine tests to assess the performance and reliability of the locomotive.Conduct functional and routine tests to assess the reliability of the locomotive.Implementation of Field Modifications (FMI’s) to improve the quality of our product.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostic

Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues with locomotive systems during the commissioning processUtilize diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint faults and implement corrective actionsRead, interpret and understand written or electronic information to identify the Root cause of a failures and compile reports for your site lead and warranty manager.Perform with the use of mechanical drawings, schematics and location circuit plans, electrical and mechanical repairs of various components.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain detailed records of all tests, inspections, and adjustments made during the commissioning processDocument failures, part exchanges, implementation of FMI’s and your performed work in our Commissioning and Warranty database.Provide feedback to engineering and quality teams on design and manufacturing processes based on commissioning outcomes.

Safety and compliance

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements throughout the commissioning process.Conduct risk assessments and ensure all testing and commissioning activities comply with relevant safety standards

What will you need to succeed?

post-secondary education or Technical Diploma in Electrical, mechanical, industrial or related fieldminimum of 3 years of related experienceInterpersonal skills and ability to work in teamRole Model behavior and values consistent with Siemens Values, Siemens Mobility Behavioral Partnership and Siemens Business Conduct GuidelinesStrong in electrical fieldMust hold a valid Driver's license in good standing.Field Service or Operations experience in the railroad industry an asset
