About the role

Under the guidance of the Supervisor, the Field Service Technician is an entry level position whose main function is to provide labor resources on Field Service projects. This position offers an amazing opportunity for growth and a chance to travel the beautiful Gulf Coast region. 

Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all timesHas the ability to travel for periods of 4-5 weeks in duration and for extended periods of time in excess of 8 hours per day.Performs all job related functions in a safe, honest, ethical and compliant fashion.  Engages in strenuous physical labor to include lifting, pulling heavy objects; standing for long periods of time; climbing and working from ladders and scaffolds.Works in potentially hazardous atmospheres and locations where exposure to hazardous substances may be encountered to include petroleum hydrocarbons, benzene and hydrogen sulfide.Works inside confined spaces to include tanks, vaults and sumps, and in locations with elevated noise levels.Has the ability to wear and properly use a variety of Levels A, B and C & D Personal Protective Equipment including face, hand, foot and eye protections as well as respiratory protection equipment.Operates small equipment to include air monitoring equipment, hydraulic power packs, air compressors, pumps, blending equipment, generators, pressure washers, etc.Works with EH&S, HR and Training departments to ensure that their training, TWIC, drug screens, physicals, etc. are current.Is available for “On Call” as neededPerform other duties and tasks as assigned by management as required by the business

The field team is on the road at an assignment for 4-5 weeks using company transportation, housing provided by company and a daily per diem.  Hours worked per day can be up to 10- hour shifts 6 days a week.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferredDemonstrates a strong mechanical ability and drive to succeedClean driving record and valid state issued Driver’s LicenseAbility to obtain TWIC card with company assistanceKnowledge of API Safe Work practices and RCRAAbility to pass background checks, drug & alcohol screens including hair follicle testing, OSHA 40 hours Training and Confined Space Entry trainingAbility to work at elevations and inside confined spaces for extended periods of timeDemonstrates leadership ability with strong attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to perform strenuous physical activityRequires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reachingAbility to wear and use PPE and respiratory protection equipment to include level A, B & CAbility to work in both hot (>90 degrees F and cold <32 degrees F) environments for extended periods of timeFit for duty to include being clean shaven when requiredRequires lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50 lbsExtensive travel as required
