This Field Specialist role within the Downstream Chemicals Service Delivery organization will provide technical support to our customers, focusing on delivering water technologies and optimizing related applications across North America. In this role, the specialist will be viewed internally and externally as a field subject matter expert in Water-related technologies, applications, and disciplines, including cooling towers, boilers, wastewater treatments, and industry specifications.
As a Field Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Leading Water technical support efforts across all existing and new Downstream accounts within North America to enable flawless execution through involvement in pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysisWorking closely with Service Delivery, Sales and Technology teams to design technical job programs including risk mitigation plans to meet customer’s objectives and maximize revenue potentialProviding on-demand support for cooling, boiler and wastewater applications in refineries including technical recommendations for new chemical applicationsBuilding trusting relationships and interfacing with key customers at both corporate and field facilitiesIdentifying and collaborating with field team to drive projects, technical and innovative solutions that bring value to our customersParticipating and providing technical leadership in industry forumsPerforming annual technical audits and health checks on all assigned accountsProviding support to Operations, Technology and Manufacturing for process technology portfolio as needed including roll out and application of new technologies in the fieldProviding technical presentation for customers and field personnelPerforming job analysis to understand application hazards & incident potentialWorking on field incidents related to products/services and participate in incident investigation when required ensuring end to end processTaking on special projects including Product Line specific responsibilities, as assignedTo be successful in this role you will:
Have a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering preferred)Have a minimum of 10+ years of Downstream refining experience/5+ years of industrial water process/plant experienceHave a solid understanding of cooling water, boiler, and digital technologies as well as wastewater treatment plants and industry standards with 5+ years of field/operations/application support experience.Be able to function independently as well as in a team environmentCommunicate effectively - able to convey complex technical concepts accurately and concisely to all individuals of all levels of experience both in a written and oral formatBe available to travel up to 50% of the timeDevelop and provide technical mentorship to othersBe available on call outside of regular business hoursBe able to lead, plan, coordinate,e and deliver projects and programs successfullyWork in a way that works for you
