Job Title: Field Supervisor

Summary:

Work alongside the District Service Manager to manage the daily field operations of the group. Manage a small agreement base through performing project maintenance and repairs, and responding to service calls as needed.

 

Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, technical support and on the job training to service technicians. Assist with the training plan for each technician. Perform weekly site safety inspections. Perform field quality inspections. Perform annual truck inspections for technicians. Perform annual ladder inspections. Attend monthly safety committee meetings. Lead safety effort among technicians and work to build and maintain a safety culture. Act as back up to the District Service Manager as needed. Coordinate with Dispatch team as needed to assign service calls. Coordinate with District Service Manager on technician performance management. Assist Business Development Manager with sales meetings and surveys on smaller unitary sites. Partner with other Field Supervisors and District Service Managers to share resources amongst other groups as needed. Partner with District Service Manager on the preparation of large quotes. Ensure each technician has a balanced workload through thoughtful scheduling. Partner with HR on recruitment and retention strategies.

Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

Advanced troubleshooting on all air-cooled equipment, both unitary and chilled water. Basic understanding of water-cooled chillers. Basic understanding of DDC control systems. Capable of maintaining and repairing cooling towers. Ability to diagnose water flow issues. Proficient with variable frequency drives and starters. Proficient with low pressure boilers. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair large, water-cooled chillers. Diagnose issues on large boilers with power burners. Advanced diagnosis of air distribution systems (VAV/PIU). Chilled water system distribution and troubleshooting. Troubleshoot and repair/rebuild large pumps. Possess superior system knowledge and advanced troubleshooting skills.

 

Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of computers and tablets. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work well in a team environment. Strong adaptability skills.

 

Required Experience, Certifications, and Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Trade/Technical School certification or degree preferred. Four to five years plus of commercial/industrial HVAC experience. Valid Driver’s License. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
