Given the extensive responsibilities and sensitive nature of the Supervisor role, background checks are conducted before hiring and as part of the onboarding process. A criminal history clear of recent theft, violence, sex-related, trespassing, harassment, and narcotic violations is crucial to ensure the safety and security of both our employees and our customers, as well as to uphold the trust and integrity of our organization.
For the Supervisor position, any history of the criminal behavior stated above could pose significant risks to the company and its stakeholders because of the following:
· The Supervisor is entrusted with responding to service calls, where professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment are paramount.
· The safety of team members is one of our utmost concerns. The Supervisor works closely with a small (2-3 person) team for long periods, including overnight jobs. A criminal history clear of stated crimes provides reassurance that individuals are capable of working closely with others and handling sensitive and challenging scenarios with the utmost care and responsibility.
· Our teams work in homes where the homeowner may not be present. Customers trust our team members to value their property and a history of theft could jeopardize that trust.
· The Supervisor represents the organization in various community outreach initiatives and partnerships with local police departments and law enforcement professionals. A criminal record clear of the stated crimes upholds the company’s reputation and credibility. It demonstrates a commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
· The Supervisor is trusted with a company credit card to purchase supplies to conduct their work.
· Our teams respond to service calls that involve fentanyl clean-up and removal. A criminal history clear of drug and narcotic-related crimes is necessary to keep all parties protected.
Our background check process includes a 7-year history review of nationwide, federal, and county crimes. Those with recent convictions or a pattern of convictions may not be considered for employment.
In addition to a criminal background check, a motor vehicle report is also reviewed. Because the Supervisor is responsible for the care and operation of a company vehicle, a valid driver’s license and driving history or pattern free of reckless behavior is required. This includes but is not limited to excessive speeding, driving impaired, driving without a license, and moving violations.
