The State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board oversees mosquito control in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts including 11 regional programs. Job Opening:
The State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board seeks applicants for a Field Technician 1 to perform the following duties:

A cover letter must be submitted as part of the application process and attached “as relevant” to the requisition. Your resume is attached correctly.

Responsibilities include:

Driving a truck carefully, as used in mosquito control work, and maintaining drainage systems.Safe work practices and tool use. Be alert for unsafe conditions you might encounter each day during your work.Cleaning the trucks, equipment, and project facilities.Caring for all equipment you use and secure against loss or careless damage through misuse.Maintaining, repairing, and adjusting trucks, spray equipment, power tools, and hand tools.Gaining and remembering the general layout of streets in the towns in which you work.Recognizing adult mosquitoes, mosquito larvae, mosquito pupa, and mosquito eggs.Learning the essential elements of mosquito control.Constantly training, learning, and preparing to advance in classification.Knowing the exact location of all pesticide exclusions within your area and honoring requests per 333CMR 13.03 and/or all other applicable policies, regulations laws.Getting certified by the State Pesticide Board after having studied and passed the examinations of this Board.Learning to use the following equipment: chainsaws, rakes, shovels, clippers, U.L.V. sprayers, portable U.L.V. sprayers, hand-held pump cans, diapers, and all maintenance tools.Mixing, applying, and reading labels of pesticides used by the Project.Dealing with the general public professionally and courteously. Communicating effectively in English. Lifting and carrying 40 pounds over uneven terrain.Possess a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License and a good driving record.
