Field Technician 2
CTG is seeking to fill a Field Technician 2 position for our client in Los Angeles, CA. Location: Los Angeles, CA Duration: 12 months Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (Occasional overtime based on client needs) Duties: Perform site installations, including mounting access points on ceilings, walls, and poles. Coordinate third-party vendor work and ensure proper installation. Run and terminate Ethernet cables from access points to network closets, IDFs, and MDFs. Conduct Wi-Fi speed testing and validation. Test fiber optics, analyze signal transmission, and determine if the fiber is active or dark. Properly run cables through ceilings, walls, and raised flooring while maintaining cable management standards. Ensure installations comply with building codes and regulations. Configure and troubleshoot network switches. Properly run and bend conduit for cabling. Install and commission radio network/repeater systems in various locations (e.g., train workshops, tunnels, shopping centers, airports, stadiums). Conduct acceptance measurements using a spectrum analyzer. Create system documentation, maintenance reports, and measurement analysis. Provide technical support to customers both on-site and remotely. Perform system troubleshooting, maintenance, and fault rectification. Skills: Strong understanding of network installations and structured cabling. Ability to run, terminate, and test Ethernet and fiber optic cabling. Knowledge of Wi-Fi and network testing methodologies. Experience working with spectrum analyzers and network testing tools. Familiarity with building codes and best practices for cable management. Basic knowledge of switch configuration and troubleshooting. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Office applications. Experience: 2-4 years of experience in field technician roles, including installation and commissioning of network equipment. Experience with radio frequency (RF) systems, mobile radio, or spectrum analysis is a plus. Education: High school diploma or GED required. Completed technical training in electrical engineering, electrical installation, or radio/television technology is preferred. Additional Requirements: Valid Class B or Class C driver’s license. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed. Ability to lift and install equipment in various environments. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market conditions, and applicable certifications.
