Job Description
Inspect, diagnose and perform major and minor repair work on motors, pumps, hydraulic equipment, compressors, controls, valves, and related equipment. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, engines, and compressors. Disassemble, clean, and inspect various types of equipment, understand engineering standards and specifications, and prepare equipment for installation and/or replacement.
ResponsibilitiesInspect, diagnose, and perform major and minor repair work on motors, pumps, hydraulic equipment, compressors, controls, valves, and related equipment.Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, engines, and compressors.Disassemble, clean, and inspect various types of equipment.Understand and adhere to engineering standards and specifications.Assemble, test, and prepare equipment for installation or replacement.Read and understand blueprints, sketches, manuals, and other forms of documentation related to equipment.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Recognize challenges and opportunities, and participate in developing solutions.Perform root cause failure analysis (RCA) of equipment.Troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, evaluate, and repair rotating equipment such as pumps and motors.Record all necessary data to produce expected service or design results, including sizing and illustrations.Clean parts of rotating equipment using various methods such as parts washers and sand blasters.Repair or replace defective parts, mechanical seals, bearings, shafts, wear rings, O-rings, gaskets, and impellers.Test reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operation.Assist in performing preventative maintenance on represented products.Assist in troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic problems in mechanical rooms.Strictly follow all company processes and procedures.Accurately record customer visits using company-provided devices.Assist in reading electrical schematics and system data sheets.Maintain a professional appearance and handle customers in a positive, professional manner.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitude and experience (2+ years)Electrical/Industrial aptitude and experience (2+ years)Field service and customer service experience (2+ years)Experience with power tools, rotating equipment, electrical and mechanical assembly, compressors, pneumatics, and machine buildingAbility to read blueprints and schematicsBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary equipmentBasic math skills, including fractionsBasic knowledge of pumps and electrical equipmentAbility to lift 75 lbs unassistedValid Driver's License preferred or in processAdditional Skills & QualificationsSelf-starting individual who requires little or no supervisionAbility to articulate and convey information both verbally and in writingMeet timelines and end dates consistentlyAvailable to work overtime as neededAbility to follow orders and communicate professionally in high-pressure, time-sensitive environmentsWilling to work flexible hours and overtime on short noticeAbility to be on call after normal working hoursProfessional appearance and excellent customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with othersWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Report to Field Service Manager. This position is 100% mobile, requiring travel from client site to client site.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Chester, New York.
